Terms of Use
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This is a translation of the German Nutzungsbedingungen. If the two differ, the German version prevails.
1. Provider and scope
Housely is offered by kreativkonnekt GmbH, Fuhlsbüttler Str. 421, 22309 Hamburg, Germany ("we"). These terms apply to the use of the Housely app on iPhone, on Android and in the browser. Apple's terms also apply to getting the app from the App Store, and the Google Play Terms of Service to getting it from Google Play.
2. What Housely is
Housely helps households organise chores, shared expenses, recurring bills and shopping. Housely works out who owes whom how much and shows payment information such as a GiroCode. Housely itself doesn't make any payments, doesn't hold any money and isn't a payment service. Calculations – for example for recurring bills, utility costs or the deposit – help with your everyday life, but they are not legal, tax or financial advice.
3. Account and household
- You need an account to use Housely. You must be at least 16 years old.
- Keep your sign-in details secret. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Everything you enter in a household is seen by all members of that household. Only enter data you are allowed to share – this applies in particular to details about other people.
- You may not misuse Housely, for example for unlawful content, to harass others or to attack or overload the technology. There is zero tolerance for insulting, threatening or objectionable messages.
- Anyone can report a message that breaks these rules in the app (long-press the message → "Report") – or by email to [email protected]. We review reports within 24 hours. If there is a violation, we may delete content, remove people from households and ban accounts.
- You can block people in the app ("Block"). Their messages are then hidden from you, you get no notifications about them, and they can't request to join your households.
- The household's admin can delete messages and remove people from the household. An automatic word filter replaces slurs with asterisks.
4. Free use and Housely Plus
Housely is free, including several households in one account. Up to two people with their own account can use a household for free. Housely Plus always applies to one specific household and unlocks further features there for all of its members: more than two people with their own account, more than three active recurring bills (Fixkosten), receipt scanning, export of all expenses as CSV, earlier months in the fairness view and in the monthly overview, older entries (without Plus, the expense and chore lists show the last three months; nothing is deleted, and balances always count every entry), a custom default split for the household (for example 60/40) and the utility statement (Nebenkostenabrechnung).
Housely Plus comes in two tiers, each as a monthly or yearly subscription:
- Plus – One Household: €3.49 a month or €29.99 a year, for one household.
- Plus – Up to 3 Households: €4.99 a month or €44.99 a year, for up to three of your households.
These are the prices in Germany including VAT; in other countries the App Store or Google Play shows the price in your currency. The price you see in the app before you buy is the one that applies.
- Free trial: The yearly subscriptions start with 14 days free. On the App Store the trial is available once per Apple Account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it turns into the paid yearly subscription and Apple charges the yearly price. On Google Play the trial is available if you haven't had a Housely subscription with your Google account before. Unless you cancel before it ends, it turns into the paid yearly subscription and Google charges the yearly price.
- Who gets Plus: Plus applies to the household you bought it in, and there to every member. It does not apply to your other households, and being a member of a household with Plus does not give you Plus anywhere else. If a household already has Plus, the app shows who pays for it; a second purchase for the same household isn't needed.
- Moving Plus: The person who pays for Plus can move it to another of their households at most once every 30 days. The previous household loses Plus straight away.
- People in a household: Without Plus, a household can have up to two people with their own account. The third person needs Plus for that household. If Plus ends, everyone already in the household stays; more than two people can only join again with Plus.
- Recurring bills: Without Plus, a household can have up to three active recurring bills; paused ones don't count. If Plus ends, every existing bill keeps being booked; new ones, or resuming paused ones, beyond three need Plus again.
- On the iPhone, Apple handles purchases and subscriptions through your Apple Account; on Android, Google Play handles them through your Google account. Apple's or Google Play's terms apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the chosen period unless you cancel in time: on the App Store at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, on Google Play before it ends. On the App Store you can cancel or switch between the tiers at any time in your Apple Account settings. You can cancel a Google Play subscription at any time in the Play Store app (your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or on play.google.com; you switch between the tiers in Housely.
- You request refunds from Apple. If Apple refunds a subscription, Plus ends with it.
- For purchases through Google Play, Google Play's refund policies apply; you request refunds from Google Play. If Google refunds and ends a subscription, Plus ends with it.
- If the person who pays for Plus leaves the household, the household keeps Plus until the end of the paid period. If their subscription ends, Plus ends for the household at the end of the paid period.
5. Availability and changes
We try to provide Housely reliably, but we can't promise uninterrupted availability, for example during maintenance or outages. The app largely works offline too and syncs changes later. We keep developing Housely and may change features, as long as the essential scope is kept for paid periods.
6. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are only liable for breach of an essential contractual obligation whose fulfilment makes the use of Housely possible in the first place, limited to the typically foreseeable damage. Otherwise liability is excluded.
7. End of use
You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings → your profile at the top → Delete account). What happens to your household data then is described in the Privacy Policy. We can ban or terminate accounts if these terms are seriously breached. For serious or repeated breaches, for example coming back with new accounts after a ban, we can also permanently block the devices used. Periods of Housely Plus that have already been paid for are not affected, unless there is a serious breach.
8. Notes on Apple
These terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Housely, its content, maintenance or support and has no obligation to provide support. We, not Apple, are responsible for claims relating to Housely, for example regarding product liability or third-party rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will let you know in the app in good time. Material changes to your disadvantage only apply with your consent.
10. Final provisions
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in the EU, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Contact: [email protected].
