Delete your Housely account
Housely is the app for chores, shared expenses and shopping in a shared household, developed by kreativkonnekt GmbH (Hamburg, Germany). You can delete your account at any time – in the app, without the app in your browser, or by emailing us.
1. In the app
- Open Housely on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Go to Settings and tap your profile at the top.
- At the bottom, tap “Delete account”.
- The app shows what happens to each of your households. Tap “Delete account permanently”.
2. Without the app, in your browser
- Open Housely in the browser: delete account.
- Sign in with your account's email address and password. The sign-in page is in German: enter your email under “E-Mail”, your password under “Passwort” and press “Anmelden”. In a new browser we email you a code first; enter it and press “Bestätigen”.
- You then see the same overview as in the app, in English. Tap “Delete account permanently”.
You usually sign in with Apple or Google and have no password? On the sign-in page, tap “Passwort vergessen?” (forgot password). We email a link to your account's address so you can set a password. Or use the third way.
3. By email
Email [email protected] from your account's email address with the subject “Delete account”. We usually reply within two working days and delete your account no later than 30 days after your request. If the email comes from a different address, we check with you first, so nobody can delete someone else's account.
What is deleted
Right away when you tap “Delete account permanently” (by email: as soon as we delete it):
- your account with your name, email address, password and the sign-in with Apple or Google (for “Sign in with Apple” we also end the connection with Apple),
- your devices' push tokens, your bank details (IBAN, account holder, PayPal.me) in all households, your calendar links, your Housely Plus purchase records, open join requests and your blocks,
- every household where nobody else has their own account – with all its chores, expenses, recurring bills, the shopping list, messages, receipt photos and household info. People who are only listed as a name without an account don't count.
What stays, and for how long
- Shared households: If others with their own account are still in a household, it stays for them. Entries that concern others – shared expenses, settlements, chores and the messages you wrote – stay there under your name without an account, so their accounts and history stay correct, for as long as the household exists. If you managed the household, the person who has been a member the longest takes over. You can delete your own messages in the app beforehand.
- Reports: The link between you and any reports is removed; we delete the reports themselves 6 months after we have closed them.
- Server log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest, backups when the respective backup is overwritten in the normal rotation.
- Housely Plus: Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions run through the store you bought them in: on iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in the Play Store under your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Deleting only some of your data
Want to keep your account? You delete entries, messages, receipt photos and bank details yourself in the app. For anything else, email [email protected] and we delete it.
